Next time Zegna’s catwalks will take a place on a mountain.
This is not a joke, but the trend we discovered during latest fashion weeks in Florence (Pitti Uomo 91) and in Milan, looking at the calendar’s next dates of the maison.
At first: Florence
Alessandro Sartori debuts in the role of Artistic Director for Ermenegildo Zegna with a collection mixing tailoring and performancewear.
High-tech and made to measure. Vintage and ski-inspired attitude draw the metropolitan style with Techmerino Jersey and luxury Techmerino Silk, Icon Warmer, ski boots and sneakers. Zegna is back as in the 70’s looking for new champions.
Next Friday, January 20th, Zegna will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the opening of the Monte Marca single-seat chair lift and the Buca di Forno ski tow that marked the start up of the Bielmonte ski resort in Northern Italy. This place was an important part of the large scale development project for the territory of Trivero, Biella (where the Lanificio Zegna was founded in 1910) launched in the ’30s on the initiative and under the supervision of the entrepreneur Ermenegildo Zegna (oasi zegna.com).
Winter style, activewear, ski boots for everyday life and outstanding fabrics are the trademarks of Ermenegildo Zegna Winter 2017. Raw materials meet effortless engineering, for soft and active fittings, in the Made to Measure service. Important elements are the accessories: active sneakers, sturdy brogues with silicon-dipped soles, outsized portfolios and backpacks, book briefcases. Newness: a special loom turns super thin leather strips into a woven fabric, the innovative Pelle Tessuta.
