After more than 40 years the elegant nihilism of a subculture that borrowed from art school visual tricks and Situationism, though deeply rooted in its time (the late 70s economic and social collapse), is apparently still relevant.
So iconic its appropriation of bad taste, bad manners and general “Epater la bourgeoisie” attitude, it is still the go-to symbol of youthful revolt, by now digested and devoid of real meaning, but still capable of raising a few tired eyebrows and rallying a few discontented youths, Punk, will, alas, never die.
