Robyn Rihanna Fenty, best known as Rihanna or Riri for her fans, is widely expected at Met Gala 2018 in New York, which is just about to start. Has anyone forgotten the royal fairy-tale yellow cloak she wore at met 2015 or her futurist Comme des Garçons last year? Or her crazy Gucci outfit at Coachella Music Festival 2018?

Truth is, Rihanna has turned 30 a couple of months ago, and she is a bit like parsley in the kitchen: she pops up a bit everywhere and it’s always news. The Harvard University assigned her the Humanitarian of the Year award, to highlight the importance of a star’s social commitment. Rihanna has indeed opened one of the most innovative studios for cancer research in the world and is providing substantial support for the campaign for children schooling in developing countries. And let’s not forget that her communication against anorexia and the stereotype of the female body is being fought on field. The fact is that Riri has not ignored critics of her body, her quite unusual legs, and answered just like divas do, with just the right amount of self-confidence of a person who knows what she wants. After all, what is the right weight? How much should a star weigh today? Being able to influence society, which means much more than what Scarlett Johansson had managed to do at the peak of her success: becoming an ambassador for Oxfam. Numerous divas have actually lent their face or body for a campaign against furs or other socio-sustainable activities. But she did much more. She recently launched Savage x Fenty, which is not Victoria’s Secret but is all about curves and sexy lingerie. Are we talking about curvies? No, nothing like that, we are simply open to the awareness that even for women, shape is not what matters most. A body that is not in “regular” shape can still be sexy if its content is great. And then came her latest success: the make up like Fenty Beauty,  so widely successful that it dubbed the sales of the line signed by Kim Kardashian.

Fenty Beauty offers an immense palette of foundations that will fit literally any skin, and will be perfect on any woman. Her history as an entrepreneur started 15 years ago with her first collaboration for a fragrance. She then repeated the experience in 2011 with the launch of her own fragrance line that expanded until it included a men’s perfume. In 2013 came the first collaboration on make up with MAC. She signed “RiRi hearts MAC” for them, a line of lipglosses and lipsticks. But it was not enough: in 2014 came “Fenty x Puma”, and the following year she designed a sneaker that sold out in just one hour after its release.

Nothing is ever enough for Riri, though: she was the first woman ever to win the Shoe of the Year Award. But let’s not forget that Riri is first and foremost a singer, a singer who sells 60 million records and 215 million digital tracks. She is the third artist ever to have the biggest amount of number one hits in the US charts, Nine Grammy Awards, twelve American Music Awards, just to mention the most famous ones. So Riri is Riri and we wish her a long life of continuous successes.
