JACQUEMUS finally presents his first menswear collection in Marseille

In this long-awaited catwalk along the sunny beaches of Provence, we find the poetic and a bit naif style that made Simon Porte known all over the world through his previous women’s collections. Also with his SS19 menswear, called “Le Gadjo”, he creates a splendid tribute to the Mediterranean landscapes that saw him born and grow among yellow wheat fields, olive trees and limestone rocks.

What kind of man is JACQUEMUS one?

Engaging in its simplicity, the “gadjo”, which refers to an outsider of gipsy community, re-appropriates a wild, romantic and ethnic charm by wearing warm, soft colours with all natural fibres. Proposing complete looks including t-shirts, sweaters, jackets, pants and short pants, the gadjo celebrates the trans-seasonal properties of pure merino wool. In collaboration with Woolmark Company, the 28-years-old designer has decided to enhance this material, commonly considered as a winter fabric, creating fresh informal outfits, perfect for any occasion at the seaside, from long sunny days on the beach to cocktail evenings between white wooden tables and fire torches.
