You know that you can never bore the Moschino fashion show: yet in the last SS18 Collection it
was pervading a feeling of dèja vu.
Kaia Gerber opened the show walking as a biker ballerina, resembling the look of her mother, the super model Cindy Crawford, when she was shot in the famous Peter Lindbergh photo shoot of Vogue in 1991. From a biker ballerina, with black leather jacket and silk ballet dress, the Moschino woman blossoms into a couture-flower gowns, becoming literally bouquets on the catwalk.

This season’s Moschino capsule collection – available now – features My Little Pony x Moschino tie-sleeve shirts and tanks, accessorised with lunchbox handbags: she canters through tweeny dreamland of tutus in tulle and anything-but-black feathers.
The biker iconography recedes into rear view. She is extraordinary. She is revealed as a fully outfitted prima – albeit in boots – before a tour en l’air moment of total blossoming.
The emphasis shifts from the outfits of ballet to the tokens of adoration a grown up prima should have heaped upon her: flowers.

Jeremy Scott says: “This is a collection about how far you can go, and how high you can leap. It’s about metamorphosis and beauty and feminine archetypes all set within the codes of Moschino. It’s a dance through the music of fashion.”
