The Givenchy SS18 Collection was the debut of the new designer of the brand, Claire Weight
Keller, ex Chloe’s creative director. In order to give to the brand a different twist from Riccardo Tisci’s era, she decided to take full-handed inspiration from original’s Hubert de Givenchy sketches and she has noticed that he started everything from shoulders and graphic print.
In particular she chose “the Clover” from 1961 and the animal motifs of 1981 and transformed
them into claw marks, tufted on garments in velvet. Also color palettes came from archives,
using lots of black and white and spots of red. Let’s keep an eye on her!
