‘”Circular fashion’ can be defined as clothes, shoes or accessories that are designed, sourced, produced and provided with the intention to be used and circulate responsibly and effectively in society for as long as possible in their most valuable form, and hereafter return safely to the biosphere when no longer of human use.”

Circular economy  is the keyword for the present and the future of fashion industry and works as an alternative to a traditional linear economy. The traditional concept works on the idea of produce, use, and dispose. Circular economy works in a different way, it aims to keep resources in use as long as possible,  and extract the maximum value while in use. It relies on a system wide innovation that is based on three principles:

  1. Design out waste and pollution
  2. Keep products and materials in use
  3. Regenerate natural systems

Lablaco is a community based digital circular fashion platform that focuses on solving ongoing waste issues and prolonging product life cycle. It offers a new innovative solution to the concept of circular fashion. But how?
The current Circular Fashion Concept focuses more on producing recycled fabrics made from natural material. Although this process has its benefits, Lablaco aims to create a faster impact on our environment using the current fashion system and its community in re-circulating products. The Circular Fashion Platform can be the solution to fast fashion waste. The platform is composed of two applications GIVE and SHOP. They work cohesively: on GIVE users are able to giveaway their spare fashion items to the global community. In turn users are able to buy from SHOP one of a kind pieces that do not deteriorate like fast fashion items. Lablaco GIVE is reshaping how customers dispose of clothing and directing them into a closed-loop consumption system. When posted on GIVE these fashion items end up being used by another person instead of being disposed  which creates an ecosystem where product life cycle is extended. A simple online payment and autonomic logistics system within GIVE allow ease of use to offer a solution for fashion waste that is accessible to everyone.

Anna Dello Russo adds a new layer to the mission of passing on her fashion heritage through the sales of her historic wardrobe. On top of the launch of the AdR Book, Anna is joining forces with Lablaco GIVE to give away – for free – a selection of 3 of her archived pieces to fashion lovers of the younger generation. “It’s very important we secure a sustainable future for fashion. We need to empower young talents and emprove the awareness of our industry to make the right choices for the years ahead”, sustains Anna Dello Russo. Trough Lablaco GIVE, fashion lovers are encouraged to reuse clothing and accessories that would otherwise be thrown out, enabling them to save the consumption of water and CO2 used in the production chain, and proving to be win-win to all involved.
In this special Giveaway, one piece will be awarded to a new fashion talent, chosen with a social media driven Illustration Challenge. Lablaco and Anna Dello Russo will pick out the best illustrated “Anna-Look”, submitted with the combined hashtags #IwAnnabeAnna #Give4Good, from the 15th until the 19th of February, 2018. The remaining 2 giveaways, open to all Lablaco GIVE users, will also take place between the 15th-19th of February, 2018. This occasion will follow all the normal standards of Lablaco’s platform, where interested participants will be able to browse the giveaways, put them on hold and if selected receive their chosen pieces directly at home. “We are happy to work with Anna, ” says Lorenzo Albrighi, Co-Founder of Lablaco in 2016 with Shih-Yun Kuo, Managing Partner. She adds: “Sustainability – both in terms of the environment, but also in terms of keeping the history and creativity of the fashion industry ever-growing – has never been more relevant.”
