At Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo art and cuisine join together for a night

When an artist turns into a chef it can only rise something special. This is the case of “Pane al pane”, the performance conceived by the polyhedric artist Alessandro Sciaraffa in tandem with the young chef Alessandro Mecca that will take place at the Foundation on Thursday evening.

Following the way undertaken in 2017 with the project “La cena dei dodici” (Dinner of twelves), the Turinese artist continues his research about the possibility to open a truly dialogue between art and other disciples like, for example, science, cinema, literature, music and, in this case, cooking.

Born from a previously workshop promoted by the Foundation itself and realized with the help of Piedmont Region, the performance, that focuses on the concept of flavors’ sharing, is freely inspired by Monster Chetwynd solo exhibition “Il gufo con gli occhi laser” (The owl with laser eyes) curated by Irene Calderoni and shown at the Turinese art space untill March 30, 2019.

Trying to adopt a language not so distant from that of Chetwynd in fact, using a poor and primitive element like the bread, Scaraffa will explore the acts of giving and receiving as well as those of watching and tasting, also directly involving the public.

Finally “Pane al pane” will be a wonderful occasion to visit – or visit again – the Fondazione and its other currents exhibition.

So if you are in Turin, don’t miss it!
