DOLCe&GABbANA ReJOINs SMeG ON THe OCCAsION OF tHE 58tH SALoNE DEl MOBiLE EDiTION

Everybody knows that the couple Italy – and above all Sicily – and cuisine is always a winner duo. For Milano Design Week Dolce&Gabbana renews the collaboration with Smeg launching a project in the name of Made in Italy and, of course, the love of art and design.

The new exhibition “SMEG Artistic&Traditional DOLCE&GABBANA” at Metropol – opened to the public until April 14 from 6 pm to 9 pm – mixed up the distant and yet so close worlds of food and fashion: household appliances are shown together with Dolce&Gabbana accessories and clothes, both conceived as truly artworks by Italian artisanship and savoire faire.

A play of colores and Sicilian culture’s references – first of all the traditional Sicilian “carrettelle”, carts used for citrus fruits and snow cones sale – decorates the fridges, the “Divina” kitchen and its hood with geometrical motifs, flowers, stars, prickly pears, fruits and Greek frets.

Finally “Sicily is my Love” is the new collection of little household appliances: from the coffee machine to the toaster, from the blender to the kittle, passing through the mixer, all of them show off vivid shades of red and lemon yellow as well as images of the South Italy’s landscapes, the Etna volcano and also the ruins of the fascinating  Valle dei Templi.
