Most of the time, museum storages vaults house much more art than they display on the actual floors. The largest museums shows to the visitors less than 10 per cent of what they own. Obviously the storage vaults are closed to the public. Italian photographer Marco Lanza had access to  the vaults of Florence’s Museo Archeologico, seriously damaged from the flood of 1966 , and started taking pictures in order to document its state . He then travelled all over Italy to photograph the storages of major museum and institutions. The result are an exhibition:  ”Depositi” at Museo della Scienza e della Tecnologia in Milano, open till october 9th and a book with the same title.
