The Issey Miyake SS18 fashion show was opened by three dancers behind a metallic backdrop,
that started moving and pushing the fabric in order to create shapes and shadows, representing the spirit of the collection: Nature.
The designer Yoshiyuki Miyamae indeed took inspiration from the wild nature of Iceland, a rough and volcanic territory, covered with moss.
Color palette is made by the warm tones of the earth, mixed up with the cold colors of glaciers. Shapes are rough, geometrical but at the same time irregular. There were also some new fabric’s innovation as the clothes of the three dancers which started contorting and stretching the items, that changed color with lights and movements.
